Teams
from Fife were scattered among many regions this season, apart from the three
leagues within Fife:
a team from Tayport
played in the Forfarshire/ Tayside Cups
Tayside Albion, who were the
forerunners of Newburgh, played in the Perthshire competitions
and Dunfermline, who were Scottish
Junior Cup finalists against Parkhead a few seasons previously, played in the
East of Scotland League alongside Our Boys and Vale of Grange from Bo'ness,
Edinburgh Renton, Musselburgh Fern, Niddry Violet and
University Athletic.
To complicate matters more, the
Clackmannanshire teams (Alva, Sauchie, Vale of Forth,
as well as the county team) played in the Fife tournaments
They
all came together for the National tournament however, where Raith Athletic, the Junior side of the Rovers, fared best,
reaching the sixth round. They scratched to Parkhead Athletic over a dispute in
rail travel.
The
East of Scotland competition was still very inclusive, including teams from
Dundee, Angus and Perthshire. Lochgelly Rangers was
the longest surviving Fife team, reaching the Fourth Round.
