Cowdenbeath
Juniors progressed furthest in the National tournament, reaching the fourth
round, before falling to an early Bathgate team.
Raith Athletic, the Rovers' junior side, was beaten in
the third round by Blackstoun Rangers of Paisley, the
Junior team of Abercorn.
Kinghorn
surprised Pathhead United in the final, and lifted
the Kirkcaldy Cup. Cowdenbeath won their home association's cup.
Crossgates Thistle won the first trophy of the
Dunfermline association: the Dunfermline Cup. This was later played for as the
West of Fife Cup.
Future
Fife League members Clackmannan (2nd XI) and Tullialan
were playing in the Clackmannanshire Badge.
This
season was also the last of Donibristle Heatherbell. In the early 1890s, Donibristle
suffered a huge lost of manpower in a disaster in the
nearby Mossmorran pit - close to the site of the
present (year 2000) day chemical plant.
The
present day Donibristle industrial site is on the
land of the old private airfield, which was renamed RAF Donibristle
airfield during WW1. See the book "Fields of Fife."
